Do Mini Dental Implants Require Bone Grafting?

In this video, Dr. Thomas Baggett, III, explains how mini dental implants can often skip the long and costly bone grafting process required with traditional implants.

In the vast majority of traditional two-piece implant cases, bone grafting is required. Typically, the dentist will open the tissue, place a bone graft, and have you return in 3 to 6 months to place the implant. After that, there is usually another 3-month period before the implant can be restored.

With mini dental implants, however, we are often able to place the implants without the need for bone grafting in most cases.
