Fixed vs. Removable Dental Implant Options

In this video, Dr. Thomas Baggett, III, compares fixed and removable mini dental implant solutions and explains how your choice impacts maintenance, cost, and daily convenience.

Both fixed and removable options are excellent solutions. The decision between the two depends on several factors, including the amount of available bone, the number of implants that can be placed, your long-term and financial goals, and the required maintenance.

With a removable denture, you’ll need to take it out at least twice a day for cleaning. Regular maintenance includes replacing the O-rings, which are essential for maintaining a secure fit as they connect the denture to the implants.

With the fixed option, such as a zirconia roundhouse, we use a strong cement to secure the restoration in place. Cleaning involves the use of a Waterpik and a toothbrush, similar to caring for natural teeth.

We believe the mini dental implant, or one-piece implant option, offers significant advantages. These include lower cost, less invasive procedures, fewer visits to the dentist, and long-lasting results, all while providing a stable and attractive solution for your smile here in the Ozarks.
